Until the Whole World Hears

In case you all have wondered I haven't dropped off the face of the earth with regard to sharing these little messages, I've just been swamped by H1N1 clinic work lately and have not had ANY breaks to type. Finally today I have that opportunity and wanted to share something that came to me as I was driving into work this morning. We all have those moments when God reminds us that he is the center and today was no exception. Today his voice reached me through the radio.

I was listening to the 104.9 the River and they had an in studio interview with Casting Crowns. For those of you that don't know Casting Crowns is a Christian Band composed of youth pastors and several others based in Atlanta. They were highlighting their new single "Until the Whole World Hears". As they were signing it in studio, I was smacked in the face with the reality that I again let the demands of life get in the way of carrying out God's word and work. I've been so wrapped up in my "own" world that I haven't taken the time to share these messages or post them on my blog. Distraction isn't a good enough excuse if you want to be bold for Christ so here you go...

Lets look at the lyrics to chorus of the song by Casting Crowns:

ready yourselves
ready yourselves
Let us shine the light of Jesus in the darkest night
ready yourselves
ready yourselves
May the powers of darkness tremble as our praises rise
Until the whole world hears Lord we are calling out
Lifting up Your name for all to hear the sound
Like voices in the wilderness we're crying out
as the day draws near
we'll sing until the whole world hears

Lord let your sleeping giant arise
Catch the demons by surprise
Holy nation sanctified
Let this be our battle cry

chorus

we'll sing until the whole world hears
we'll sing until the whole world hears

What do you think? Pretty powerful stuff, huh? When was the last time you were a light for Jesus? When was the last time you took a risk and were bold? Remember being bold doesn't always mean being vocal. Let you actions speak for you my Brothers and Sisters... The world WILL hear you. They WILL recognize you are different. They will see you as Christ would like to see you ... as a humble servant. I plead that as we enter the holiday season that you don't forget the gift God gave us. Please share this type of love as much as you possibly can. Take a little more time to serve others and you will have your reward. I know I'm trying to keep this in mind as the thousands pass me in line at our flu clinics. Some aren't always the most pleasant, but I try to show them the compassion and love that a Christian should. What an awesome opportunity Thanksgiving and Christmas give us to share who we are and what we stand for. I pray that God prepares each and every one of you to sing until the whole world hears. I'll leave you with a verse that is definitely in my top ten and I've probably used a couple thousand times:

"If only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given to me - the task of testifying the gospel of God's grace." - Acts 20:24

Love in Christ,
Steve
